Why am I in the gray on Oppo? I have authorship. I just recommended my own comment to get it out of the gray. That is a very weird glitch. It was a comment on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! post of JQJ's. It may or may not have been front paged, I dont know I dont read jalopnik proper regularly anymore. I know I am in the gray on Jalopnik proper, maybe if it was Frontpaged that could explain the glitch. I dunno

It's a post from before you were an author. There are some odd quirks that pop up at times with the timing of when a flag was turned on. Normally, this isn't ever noticed, but I have seen it before.

I know i've commented on posts that were from before i was an author and I commented on them after i was an author and it was black, so I'm guessing kinja in this case.

It seems to work the same way for places where you are followed as well. I have only noticed it because of commenting on ancient articles on other spaces. For instance, sometimes if I comment on a Jalopnik article from before my account was created, I experience the same thing. Or on subblogs that I wasn't on until later.

My actual guess is half column A, half column B, with a bit of "who knows" thrown in to keep us on our toes. I've experienced the same thing in spaces other than Oppo.

Well thats kinja for ya. I actually just noticed I wasnt followed by oppo anymore. I was followed before the gray. Is it possible that when the gray came back it reset the follows and that is whats screwing this up? Because Jordaneer just followed me again, and my comments quit going straight into the gray on that post. But then again kinja has kerfuffled in the past then magically fixed itself, so I dont know

Could be. I'm only trying to equate it to what I've seen and experienced. But hell, Kinja works in mysterious ways.

Kinja doesnt really allow for scientific thought processes regarding problem solving does it

No, but it does let me do the same thing twice and experience different results at times. That's gotta be worth something.

You know, looking at that screenshot unexpanded, it really looked like Denver had written a post saying he wished straight people were legal in Colorado.

This all sounds more confusing than the plot of the latter Matrix films. If you could provide some sort of timeline, or step-by-step of your follow/unfollow/author history, I can try to piece it all together.

More confusing? That may be a step too far. I mean, as confusing perhaps... But first of all, you're implying that 1. there actually was a plot, and 2. that this "plot" was something which could possibly be linearized.
